WHO WE ARE

The Center for Atlantic Strategic Studies is a non-profit research institution established under Portuguese law, founded in 07OUT2013. CEEAT’s budget is generated by membership subscriptions, donations from individuals and private and public institutions, as well as from research projects. The Center is an autonomous organization. Its activities and views are independent of any public or private bodies, and is not allied to any political party, denominational group or ideological movement.

 

The Center for Atlantic Strategic Studies has the following objectives:

 

• To produce strategic thinking and knowledge on maritime studies, approaching the Atlantic Ocean as a unity of interdisciplinary research on social and non-social sciences, in such matters as international relations, governance and decision-making, security and safety, economy, environment and underwater exploration and exploitation;

 

• To cooperate with similar institutions, namely in Europe, North and South America and Africa, and in Portuguese speaking countries;

 

• To inform and increase awareness on the Atlantic Ocean multidimensional reality, through the realization of conferences and seminars, the publication of books and scientific papers, the production of documentaries films and photography, and information and open sources intelligence in its website.
